Edentulism is a debilitating and irreversible condition and is described as the “final marker of disease burden for oral health”. Edentulism can lead directly to impairment, functional limitation, physical, psychological, and social disability, and handicap.
Keeping this in mind the Karnataka State Government launched a program to provide free dentures to all the needy patients with complete or partial tooth loss belonging to the below poverty line families under Dantya Bhagya Yojna scheme.
Sri Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences is empanelled by the Department of Health and Family Welfare as one of the centers for Danta Bhagya scheme on 20.06.2015.
Under this scheme, patients who have lost their teeth can receive complete/partial dentures. In certain circumstances, patients who require minor procedures or extractions of few remaining teeth are also included in the treatment plan.
Sri KET, in accordance with their service oriented philosophy, has further sponsored the cost of other lab investigations required like X rays/ OPG and Laboratory tests like RBS, complete blood test, for patients so they don’t have to incur any added expenditure related to their treatment.
