Department of ORAL & MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY

Welcome to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Oral and maxillofacial surgery is that surgical specialty which diagnoses and treats diseases, deformities, injuries and cosmetic defects of the facial and oral regions of all ages. Our department has operation theatre, ICU and 20 beds for both male and female patients.

We are supported with radiology and lab investigations facilitating to carry out complex surgical training program. On an average, the department does 60 to 70 major surgical cases, about 400 minor surgeries, 600 implants and more than 1000 extractions per annum

The vision of the department is akin to that of the vision of Krishnadevaraya College of dental sciences. The department of oral and maxillofacial surgery was set up in 1991, and Post-Graduation in the Department of oral and maxillofacial surgery was started in the year 2005. The department provides treatment from simple tooth removals to complex treatments of treating Facial fractures, Orthognathic surgeries, Cleft lip and Palate, TMJ disorders and Oral Implantology. We aim to provide optimal and complete range of surgical care with modern surgical techniques.

  1.  Dr N Srinath was the Scientific Chairman of AOMSI National Conference held at Bangalore in November 2019
  2. Dr N Srinath delivered a webinar lecture on 17th may 2020 on the title “ Approach to Oral Surgery after Covid -19”
  3. Dr N Srinath delivered a National Post Graduate Faculty Lecture in GDC Goa and in Vijayawada in February 2020
  4. Post graduates from the Department presented Posters  in the AOMSI National Conference held at  Chennai 2018 and at Bangalore in November 2019.
  5. Dr Ankita won 2nd prize in poster presentation by Microlabs on Lasers
  6. Dr Sai Sindhu and Dr Deepthi won prizes for their Poster Presentation  in the AOMSI National Conference held at Bangalore in November 2019.
  7. Dr. Priyanka Das Jesabel has secured 10th rank in the University exams 2018
