Department Of General Medicine
Medical Science has been the most rapidly evolving discipline of which the Department of General Medicine is the foundation stone in all medical fields. The department of general medicine in this college encompasses a vast array of responsibilities of creating health awareness in the community & teaching both dental undergraduates & postgraduates. We train the students on the core clinical skills of history taking & clinical examination of patients presenting with various signs & symptoms due to distorted anatomic contour of organ systems & abnormal physiological functions consequent upon pathological changes of various aetiologies.

Mission
To provide students with knowledge & understanding of common conditions & emergencies in internal medicine that are relevant to dental practice.
To enable students to be efficient in diagnosing & managing medically compromised dental patient.
Department Of General Surgery
The Department of surgery in this college is actively engaged in dental undergraduates & post graduates teaching & clinical work.
The department is undertaking extensive teaching & training of UG & PG students through lectures, clinics, seminars, case presentation & learning, operative skills in operation theatre. We train the students to focus the diseases as related to head & neck region are to be given due importance, at the same time other relevant surgical problems are also be addressed.

- To acquaint the students with various diseases which may require surgical intervention.
- To develop the skills on examining a routine swelling, ulcer & other related diseases & to perform surgical procedures.

The Department of General Medicine and Surgery strives to provide dental students a broad understanding of history taking, clinical examination, proper diagnosis, effective treatment, regular follow – up and compliance of treatment. Activities include Undergraduate teaching with audio-visual aids and bed-side clinics to inculcate the basic elements of Medicine and Surgery providing students with a sound foundation in the field of medicine.
