Dentistry

Dentistry is a rapidly changing and expanding field considered as a primary healthcare profession on the front line of disease prevention, intervention and wellness promotion. The scope of a dentist’s work is broader today than ever before. While the dental profession’s prime priorities include promoting oral health and providing quality dental care, the close link of dental health to general health also makes dentists often the first health care professionals to recognize and identify a wide variety of diseases, ranging from hypertension to oral cancer.

Campus

KCDS&H is situated on a vast campus of 133 acres on the Bellary road near Air Force station, Yelahanka, close to Bengaluru International Airport (21 km from Bangalore city station). The Institute has, on its campus, Men & Women’s hostels, Ladies amenities center, staff quarters, Guesthouse, Cafeteria, Outdoors sports facility spread over 12.1 hectares and an indoor games complex. The institute is connected to all the parts of the city by its own fleet of buses. All the students admitted to the institute are covered by insurance for life and medical care.

When you step onto campus, you are immersed in our historic stone buildings and glorious green spaces. You’ll find our campus both a peaceful and vibrant place to spend your time, whether it’s studying on one of the lawns, walking through the boulevard or enjoying a hot drink in one of our many cafes. You can also take advantage of our fantastic facilities on campus; Study in our state-of-the-art academic library, discuss your seminar notes or cases, meet up before heading off for a game of cricket or football in the sprawling field or a game of table tennis in the indoor stadium.

Our Featured Courses

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)

Bachelor of Dental Sciences is a 5 year program, first three years of which includes training in general medical subjects along with basic pre-clinical dentistry followed by annual university examinations. The final year includes training in clinical dentistry. Eligible students who successfully clear the university examinations are required to complete one year ofcompulsory rotatory internship in all departments.

Master of Dental Surgery (MDS)

The Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) degree provides graduate training in different disciplines in dentistry. The aim of each discipline programme is to prepare graduate students to become registered dental specialists. The programmes foster development of critical analysis, research skills, and advanced clinical skills that will be recognised for specialist registration. It is a 3 year post graduate program in dentistry. The College offers 9 specialties.
