Head of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery – Message

Dr. Srinath N (Professor & HOD) MDS, FDSRCS

The vision of the department is akin to that of the vision of Krishnadevaraya College of dental sciences. The department of oral and maxillofacial surgery was set up in 1991, and Post-Graduation in the Department of oral and maxillofacial surgery was started in the year 2005. The department provides treatment from simple tooth removals to complex treatments of treating Facial fractures, Orthognathic surgeries, Cleft lip and Palate, TMJ disorders and Oral Implantology. We aim to provide optimal and complete range of surgical care with modern surgical techniques.

Our Staff

1. Ramadas took over as President of AOMSI Karnataka state chapter 2023-2024.
2. Ramdas and Dr. Marimallappa delivered a key note address at AOMSI State Conference Karnataka state chapter at Bellary in September 2024.
3. Ramadas delivered a key note adress at the midterm conferences.of AOMSI at Loni in Aug 2023.
4. Chaitra Patil and Dr.Vinayaka delivered lecture on OMFS day for the practicing dentists regarding medical emergencies in association with IDA Chikkaballapur
5. DEPT of OMFS conducted a simulation training program on the occasion of OMFS day at kcds in association with IDA Chikkaballapur.
6. Marimallappa TR successfully earned a Patent for Innovative internal fixation screw with variable thread pattern,designed to enhance the treatment of maxillofacial fractures in May 2024.
7. Amith secured 3^rd Prize at Quiz Competetion held at RajaRajeshwari dental college & Hospital during triple-o-symposium sponsored by Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons , Glasgow in July 2024.
8. Shraddha Narayan postgraduate student’s paper was selected in best paper category at AOMSI Karnataka state chapter Dharwad.
9. Shraddha Narayan, Dr.Thomas Podikunju, Dr.Priyanka Zille - Secured 2nd place for poster at national biotechnology seminar Bangalore.
10. Staffs and students presented various posters and papers in state and national conferences.
11. 100% pass result in MDS 2022-2023 examination.
12. Staff have. publications both in national and international journals.

1.  Dr N Srinath was the Scientific Chairman of AOMSI National Conference held at Bangalore in November 2019
2. Dr N Srinath delivered a webinar lecture on 17^th may 2020 on the title “ Approach to Oral Surgery after Covid -19”
3. Dr N Srinath delivered a National Post Graduate Faculty Lecture in GDC Goa and in Vijayawada in February 2020
4. Post graduates from the Department presented Posters  in the AOMSI National Conference held at  Chennai 2018 and at Bangalore in November 2019.
5. Dr Ankita won 2^nd prize in poster presentation by Microlabs on Lasers
6. Dr Sai Sindhu and Dr Deepthi won prizes for their Poster Presentation  in the AOMSI National Conference held at Bangalore in November 2019.
7. Dr. Priyanka Das Jesabel has secured 10^th rank in the University exams 2018

2. Dr. Srinath N has became president of Indian society of oral implantologist (ISOI) conference 2017 to be held in Bangalore
3. Guest lecture by Dr. Srinath on ‘Management of midface fracture’ AOCMF 2015 held in MOvenpick, Banglore
4. Guest lecture by Dr. Srinath on ‘challenges in implant’ at IDA conference by Karnataka state chapter 2016
5. Paper presented  by DR Umashankar on CBCT at AOMSI state conference, SDM,Darwad, Karnataka.
6. Dr. Mahesh Kumar R contributed in Shefar’s Text Book Of Oral Pathology, 8^th Edition, Edited by B Siva patrasundharam(2016)
7. 100% pass result in MDS 2015-2016 examination
8. All postgraduate students have participated in AOCMF COURSE 2015 ‘Basic principles of fracture management’ held in Movenpick, Bangalore
9. Staffs and students have presented posters and papers in state and national conferences.
10. Dr. Yapi and Dr. Swathi got best poster prize in ODONTOPLEX 2016, Oxford dental college, Bangalore.
