Head of the Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology – Message
Dr. Vijeev Vasudevan (Prof & HOD) MDS (Oral Medicine and Radiology)
OMR is an exciting field of dentistry and is constantly evolving since the need for further academic research is in great demand in this scientific arena. The curriculum is addressed to students who not only desire to be good human beings, but to be distinguished as top in the profession of dentistry, who would also play a pivotal role in the socio-economic system. The curriculum is carefully designed and integrated with didactics in the form of lectures, practical and demonstrations to improve skills and exposure to various clinical scenarios to heighten clinical acumen. We are the first interface with patients and hence it is important to develop a sense of holistic approach to their needs.
The faculty have a series of discussions with the students, on various topics which facilitate them to interact and mold their thought process. We have a student mentoring program to ensure we bring out the best in every student.
The faculty have made several presentations at National and International forums, in India and abroad, they also have many publications in National and International Journals, we serve on various Review Boards of Journals, and are active teachers with a scientific bent of mind and always ready to help our students. The students and faculty have brought laurels to our prestigious Institution and hope to do much more in the coming years.
